Quoting to acquire part of the shares of Hungry Studio, the developer of Block Blast.

According to Bloomberg, the announcement is about to take over the “small shareholding” of Hungry Studio, the developer of Block Blast. According to the source, the negotiations between the parties have been ongoing for months and the transactions may be announced soon.

Hungry Studio, based in Hong Kong, China, recently revealed that the number of active users of his brand-named game, Block Blast, had reached 70 million, and the monthly number of active users had exceeded 300 million. This is a significant increase from the 40 million days and 160 million months published in December 2024.

According to Appmagic data, Block Blast was downloaded in 2025 at a peak of 368 million installations and recorded about 216 million in 2024. In January 2025, Jason Wang, Vice-President of Hungry Studio Brand and Marketing, disclosed that the company had “extremely focused” on the A/B test and had conducted over 10,000 A/B tests in 2024 in Block Blast. As a major Chinese player, previous investments in or acquisitions of medium-weight and hard-core mobile games studios tend to hold or share shares in large shares. Typical examples include most of the shares in Supercell, boxing games, and many research and development teams, such as the Tianmai studio, which operates the Glory of the King and the Call to Mission Travel, and the Photoworking Room, which publishes the PUBG Mobile.
