Cyberpunk 2077 started a disaster, and the CDPR lost its player trust.
One of the co-executive officers of the Polish game giant CD Projekt, Michał Nowakowski, admitted that the catastrophic performance of Cyberpunk 2077, when it was launched, had deprived companies of the trust of some players.

At the Knowledge’s Edge in Person site, Michał stated that the release of Cyberpunk 2077 was a “crushing” period for the company. While the game is back on track, he still believes that CD Projekt has more to prove to the player.
“I can’t 100% be sure that we’ve completed our full salvation,” he said. “I am sure that we have permanently lost the trust of a part of the population, and that is inexorable. But I do hope that we can win back our trust, even if it was not through Wizard 4, that we could rely on the next release.”

According to Michał Nowakowski, CD Projekt ‘ s difficult period in repairing the numerous problems of Cyberpunk 2077 also helped to make the studio stronger. “We left behind a group of experienced and experienced veterans”, he said. “They are leaders capable of taking on different types of challenges.”
Michał Nowakowski also discussed the shift of CD Projekt from using its own Red engine to using Fantasia Engine 5 for the development of the upcoming ” Wizard 4 ” . He stated that it would take “six to nine months” for the new staff to master the Red engine, and admitted that it was “too crazy”.

“Epic allowed us to enter the black box of the Fantasia engine, and I think we are now the only company to do so, with the exception of Epic — and to modify it so that we can actually build one of the biggest technologies together,” Michał Nowakowski says. “The reason is that we would like to be able to tell more stories without fear of the engine’s own infrastructure. Epic gave us that foundation, and we can still develop around it and make our difference.”
The release of Cyberpunk 2077 at the end of 2020 had a chilling resonance, but CD Projekt ‘ s follow-up update had allowed the game to become more perfect and had succeeded in reversing the player ‘ s reputation, which now sold over 35 million copies.
