Coda worked strategically with Unity to integrate the IAP SDK Global Web Shop Direct

A recent announcement by the Singapore-based digital realization company, Coda, was made to integrate its global web-shop platform with the software development toolkit purchased within the Unity application. As global regulatory changes eased application shop restrictions and developers ‘ interest in direct consumer-oriented distribution channels grew, the collaboration provided developers with one-stop solutions to manage and optimize mobile, web-based and PC-end global digital content catalogues through the existing IAP workflow in Unity.

As a result of this integration, according to the official announcement, the developers will need to add only a few lines of code to quickly access a secure, Coda-driven, branded web store. Secure purchase channels that provide more dollars to players, while also increasing the profitability of developers. This integration is achieved through the business register solution in Coda, which has gained the broad confidence of global head issuers and fast-growing studios. As a statutory seller in various markets, Coda supports more than 400 payment methods in over 70 markets, comprehensively processing payments, anti-fraud, tax returns, invoice issuance and compliance, enabling developers to focus more on game content and player experience.

“As the game industry breaks through closed ecosystems, developers of all sizes want more flexible and autonomous growth control”, Shaun Hapack, CEO of Coda, said. “Integration with Unity IAP software development toolkits allows creators to deploy their shops autonomously in any part of the player’s area, with lower operational complexity, without having to deal with the cumbersome issues of global payment or compliance management. The commitment of Coda to promote the democratization of game development and to contribute to the self-sustained success of all-sized studios.” As web-end purchases are increasingly becoming an important part of the developers’ business portfolio, the focus of the direct-line web store continues to rise. According to a joint study by Niko Partners and Coda, about 26 per cent of the current hand-to-hand income in East and South-East Asia is from such sources. While the first party ‘ s web store gives developers greater control over pricing, promotion and player communication, it also brings with it the operational complexity of payments, compliance, anti-fraud and support services. Coda has effectively removed these barriers through an extended payment and wind control platform that directly integrates the workflow to Unity.

Coda ‘ s collaboration with Unity reflects a broader trend in the industry to move beyond the Platform ‘ s exclusive payment restrictions. Regulatory progress, including the EU Digital Markets Act, decisions between Epic Game and Google and Apple in the United States, and the Mobile Software Competition Act in Japan, has expanded the option for developers to use alternative payments. According to Bain & Company, the proportion of top-sellers with their own online shops increased almost fourfold in five years, from 12 to 44 per cent. In a 2025 survey, Bain & Company found that about a quarter of hand-players indicated that they had consumed directly from developers’ stores in the past year.
